  • Do you sell to the general public?

    Yes!

  • I need to get a small piece of steel. Can you help me?

    Of course! Unlike warehouse suppliers, we sell by the foot on most of our steel product and not by the bar.

  • Can you deliver steel to my work site?

    Yes! We have curb-side delivery on steel throughout a large portion of Southeastern Michigan. We also ship hardware and building supplies to our customer’s job site.   • I need to set up a house account. What are your billing terms and credit terms?

    Smede-Son’s terms on account are 10 net payable by cash or check. Please contact Accounts Receivable at our Detroit office at 313-937-8300 for an application. Three trade references are required with each application.

  • How many locations do you have?

    We have four locations to serve you throughout Southeastern Michigan. On our Contact Us page you’ll find the address, phone numbers, hours, and a map to each location.

  • I need to replace an existing beam in my house. Can you help me figure out what I need?

    While Smede-Son Steel & Building Supply Company does not do structural engineering, we would be more than happy to refer you to a structural engineer.

  • I need a specific type of tube steel, and I don’t see it on your website. Are you able to locate the type and size I need, or can you refer me somewhere?

    We are happy to special order what you need when we have access to a supplier. If we are unable to meet your needs, we will always point you in the right direction!

  • Do you carry hand drive nails?

    We have box quantities of hand drive as well as Senco gun nails. Visit our Fasteners page for more information!
